NAZARE

Nazara is historical village on the banks of Manganga River. It is the birth place of the great Sant Rangnath Awami. He is believed to be reincarnation of Gurudeo Datta. He was contemporary to the Rashtra Guru Ramdas Swami. His nephew great poet Shridhar Swami is the writer of famous granthas - Pandav Pratap, Hari Vijay, Shiv Lilamrut etc. There is south facing Hanuman mandir - it is said that it was established by Ramdas Swami. There is Lord Veerbhadra Mandir. It is maintained very nicely by Swamis. Occasionally some bhaktas organise puja called Agnihom - after puja bhaktas walk on fire. Swamis play a musical instrument called Sambool. There is very old Mahadeo temple. There is also a temple of Khandoba. Every year there is khandoba Yatra on Champashashti. There is nearly 20 feet long very very strong steel chain. Pujaries after traditional puja break it . There is one more tradition . Bhaktas drop their children (3years to 5 years old ) from roof of temple and they are catched in cotton clothe cover held at all sides by pujaris. It is believed that child becomes stronger by all means if it is done so. There is huge ancient wall towards river side. It looks that there might be a protected wall all around entire village. Nearly 500 years before Dattanand swami has taken Sanjivan Samadhi on the other side of river. Recently in 1982 after the Mahanirwan of Sanjiva Swami , his bhaktas have given Chirshanti adjecent to Dattanand Swami Sanjivan Samadhi. The temple is well maintained beautifylly by bhaktas. Bhandara is organised occasionally. Vitthal mandir, Ambabai Mandir are other famous temples. There is Shri Nijanad Rangnath Swami and santkavi Shridhar Swami Smarak trust. They have a proposal of constructing huge smarak of them. There is big festival of them on Margshirsh Vadya Dashmi. There is Govt primary and middle school. There are two high schools - Shridhar Swami girls HSS, Nazara vidyamandir prashala. There are two banks- ICICI, Solapur district bank.There is Govt Hospital & there are two private doctors also. It is learned that there is one Vaidya-Gopalrao. Population of village is nearly 7000. Main occupation is agriculture. Fruit farming is also increasing rapidly. All bara balutedar were there earlier even 40 years before. It is located on the way between Sangola and Atpadi. Water , electricity , telephone and all such facilities are there. There is post office. There is weekly bazar on each Friday. Many people from nearby villages - Balvadi, Chopadi, Anakdhal, Vazare visit Nazare every now and then for various reasons.
